Well we can't complain too much about the winter we have had so far - that's for sure!! But make sure that you don't get caught off guard with hidden patches of ice hiding under that fresh snow we just got! With the ups and downs of our recent temperatures it is a bigger problem this year than normal! Turn to our Magic Melt! It's our Ice Melter product that works just like the name says! Just sprinkle a light dusting over your sidewalks after you shovel - or directly to those icy patches when they appear after some melting. Magic Melt is an absolutely fabulous ice melter unlike most you'll ever see on the store shelf! This product can be spread with a shaker bottle or a fertilizer spreader to ensure the product covers evenly. You use a third of what you would normally use for other products you buy retail. Anything more is a waste! Ideally you want to sprinkle your walks about a half hour prior to when you want them clear but it often doesn't need that much time! Heavier ice patches may require a little extra product. Shovel your walk or driveway as normal. Then sprinkle Magic Melt on any areas with a snow buildup or icey areas. Keep it light - you don't need much! One kernel of Magic Melt will melt up to 300 times it's size in snow or ice! What happens is when it connects with ice or snow it creates a reaction that produces a heat! This heat is very fast and hot. It melts away even the most stubborn ice situations. Heavier ice build ups may require an additional application. But what you will really like is that the water created by the melt will not last long and it's gone - it does not refreeze and leave you another future ice patch to slip and fall on. And it leaves an invisible film on your driveway or walk that makes shoveling even easier after the next snowfall! It also helps prevent blowing snow from sticking as well. Why struggle with stains? 

The first thing to know about stains is it is important to catch the stain BEFORE you dry it in the dryer.  It is definitely worth a quick look through your clothes before you pump them into the dryer.  Once it has been through the dryer the stain has set and it increases the challenges to remove it greatly.

We have had a couple of inquiries lately regarding problems removing stains from your laundry and we have two excellent stain removers that will save you lots of stress and keep those favorite pieces of your wardrobe wearable in public! 

One customer was having issue with a wine stain on her dress and that definitely requires the use of our STAINS FREE product.  Stains Free will remove most organic stains including coffee, sweat, urine, blood and yes even wine!  Simply prespray your stain and let the product work for 3 to 5 minutes before putting through your normal laundry cycle.  In most cases that is all you need.  Stubborn stains may need to be lightly scrubbed or even just let soak longer in Stains Free.

For those of you who have the accidental spill of olive oil on a nice dress shirt, or a spouse or child that gets grease and oil on their clothing - this task requires the use of STAINS OUT.  Stains Out will take on the bigger challenges of oils, grease, butter, grime, lipstick, grass, and ground in dirt.  You will fall in love with this if your weekly laundry ritual is constantly hitting these types of stains!  Same procedure as with Stains Free.

Both products can be used on whites and color fabrics!

And these products are not exclusive for use in your laundry either!  Use Stains Free or Stains Out for stains on your carpet and furniture as well.  But with the wide range of dyes used in the wide variety of fibre products on the market - be sure to test the products on an obsure area first to ensure color hold.

And for your carpet and laundry, our GUM & TAR REMOVER is also an excellent stain remover product for any stains that are petroleum based - grease, oils, etc. 

And by the way, using our EnviroWash laundry soap as part of your regular laundry routine can help you as well.  There is stain fighting ingredients in this product to deal with most normal type staining issues.  Over time it has actually been successful in making old set stains dissappear.

For set stains or aggressive stains on whites only, we also have a product called White Knight.  You can use this in a presoak to help get to those nasty stains - even some set stains - but this product can only be used on WHITES ONLY.  You can also use this as part of your regular wash for whites simply by splitting your normal laundry soap amount in half and use half EnviroWash and half White Knight.

For the outside of your house, especially if you are near higher traffic streets, and get road splash or lots of dirt kicked up in the air that seems to just coat your home or garage.  Check out our Easy Kleen II degreaser.  A very safe and easy to use product - and concentrated so it goes a long way for your money.  Mix it with water in a pump up sprayer and lightly cover your hard nonporous surfaces.  Leave it sit for 3 to 5 minutes and then wash it off with your garden hose or pressure washer.  You'll be amazed at the results.  Really heavy buildups may require a heavier concentration or sometimes a brushing as well but try the easy way first.

Frustrated with trying to keep your hardwood and laminate flooring clean? 

Fear no more!  We have a wonderful product that can solve a lot of your problems.  Enviro Ultra Wash is your answer.  A beautiful product that cleans your floors without streaking and smearing and leaves a little extra shine without the extra effort!

The most important factor in cleaning hardwood and laminate floors is not using much moisture.  You can't just mop these floors like any other flooring.  Splashing water all over your wood flooring will reduce the livespan by as much as half - and you sure don't want to be replacing it that often.  This floor wash is a neutral base so it is safe on all surfaces.  It is extremely concentrated so you only mix it at a 80:1 ratio.  That means your money goes a long way. 

Ideally what you want to do is to premix your solution in a 1 litre bottle with a trigger sprayer.  Have a microfibre mop ready to go.  Spray small areas at a time with a light mist and mop immediately. Continue on as you need to cover your entire floor area.  But be very careful - mist not soak!  Minimal moisture is imperative.  Be sure to have a couple of microfibre heads for your mop on hand so that you can change the cloth in the middle of the job as you really don't want to do the last half of the floor with a dirty mop.

If you get streaking or smudging there are two potential issues - one, you have too much soap in your mixture, or two, your microfibre is dirty. 

Most people are well aware that you do not wash your microfibre with fabric softener.  It will ruin your microfibre.  What most people don't realize is that you CAN NOT DRY a microfibre in your clothes dryer - ever.  If you do, you now have a rag and it's time to head to the store and buy a new one.  Microfibres are so effective because of a system of barbs that exist in the cloth that makes the cloth trap the dirt and lift it away from the surface.  Drying the cloth in a clothes dryer melts all the barbs off the microfibre and it is now just a plain old rag.  Oops! 

And a word of caution - steamers can potentially cause problems for your laminates and hardwoods.  If they throw off too much moisture, or the seal on the floor is damaged or breached in any area, the moisture can be forced into these cracks - and long time exposure to this will potential shorten the lifespan of your flooring.
